About the Founder
We take great pleasure in informing you that we have engaged in dairy farming for many generations. Initially, dairy farming had been a family occupation to supplement the domestic income. Over the years, we realized that dairy farming is a lucrative business with a higher return on investment. Though we were anxious to expand the herd size, we were not able to do so for want of a large extent of land for expansion.
Since we were so passionate about the establishment of a medium-size dairy farm, we purchased a 12 acre land called Rothes ‘A’ and commenced a dairy farm business around 2003 with 20 milking cows, in close proximity to a Abbotsleigh Estate, Hatton. Gradually, we expanded this diary farm during the last 15 years with all modern facilities and infrastructure to accommodate a herd of approximately 150 cows and heifers. All in all, we have invested approximately over Rs.150 million and we have identified further development priorities to upgrade the farm. This may involve a capital outlay of an additional Rs.50 million.
We continue to be extremely ambitious in expanding our dairy farming business while being of immerse service to the dairy farming community. Some of our heifers that are in excess to our requirements are being sold at reasonable price for the good farmers in the upcountry areas. In addition, we do produces a very nutritive “cattle feed” and “calf feed” for our farm and other farms in the country. And our feed is in high demand because of its’ superior quality and higher milk yield.
